With the majority of shirts for the 20/21 season now revealed, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to sort through the lot to come up with our Top 20 designs. Sure it’s going to be controversial, but that’s half the fun, right?
Oct 15, 2019 Producing the kit, Sporting CP was named as the best-dressed team in Portugal for 2019/20 season. FIFA 20 Match Day Live (In Menus) Roma (away kit) Roma’s away kit prepared for FIFA 20 is considered to be the best in Serie A and one of the coolest in the world. The lightning bolt designed with the club’s favourite colors has made it a. TOP 10 KITS IN FIFA 20 ULTIMATE TEAMFollow me on twitter here: Instagram!
We’ve already announced our Top 20 Premier League shirts of the 20/21 season, and now a few weeks on and with most teams’ offerings unveiled, we’ve cast the net a little wider for our Top 20 Shirts Of The 20/21 Season. Not restricted to any one country or continent, this is what we in the SoccerBible office think are the best club designs from across the globe. That's right, no space for the likes of Nigeria here. And believe us, it wasn’t easy; this could easily have been a top 50. But we had to stop somewhere, so if you’re favourite is not in there, well, tough. Let’s get started, shall we?
20. Galatasaray Home – Providing a contemporary twist on the club’s classic design, the Galatasaray home shirt takes the usual 50-50 split of of the club’s colours and updates it with a blurred effect between the two that runs right down the centre of the shirt, which represents the flame of Galatasaray fans meeting with the team. Strong start.
19. Juventus Home – adidas have got the knack of keeping Juve's home look fresh, reverting to the classic stripes after last season's 50/50 split. But the stripes are a hand painted design, and they're joined by gold embellishments. Fit for the champions of Serie A.
18. Paris Saint-Germain Away – Marking the club’s 50th anniversary through a celebration of their beloved Hechter stripe, the PSG away shirt took its cue from the white kit worn in the 1995/96 season when Les Parisiens captured a first major European title. Clean and traditional.
17. Corinthians Away – Clean kit, oversized badges – there's a lot to like with the Corinthians away shirt. The fact that it also pays tribute to the 1990 title winning team on the 30th anniversary of their legendary victory just adds another level of appreciation.
16. Manchester City Away – Copper on black where the quite a few went for a more classic gold on black, PUMA then added another level of class with a graphic that pays tribute to the city’s historic Castleford and Bridgewater canal. Bespoke black beauty, this.
15. Arsenal Third – The design of the Arsenal third shirt saw colours representing the lights and atmosphere that illuminate the Emirates Stadium during a night match, with the blue and navy elements referencing the night sky, and the vibrant lights of the stadium brought to life in the lighter flash orange details. But who really cares about all that when it looks this good?
14. Barcelona Home – The design of the Barca home shirt features a look that's inspired by the 2011 Champions League winning shirt as well as the club's successful 1920s period, while a halftone gradient effect across the red and blue stripes lends it a deep texture. It's another fresh tweak on the classic Catalan aesthetic.
13. RB Leipzig Third – Arriving as one of the Nike kits to be influenced by classic Air Max trainers, the RB Leipzig third shirt features a bespoke all-over swirling graphic created by heavily distorting an image of the club crest. Wild isn't even the word; this is balls-out crazy and we love it.
12. Juventus Third – The Juve third shirt brings a bold orange colour to the Bianconeri for the first time in the club’s history in an expression of confidence and vibrance to reflect the team’s spirit on the pitch. Further evidence – if it were ever needed – of the club’s constant progression.
11. Manchester City Third – Proper marmite this one, with fans split right down the middle of either loving it or hating it. But we land firmly in the former camp, with a wild design that epitomises where football shirt culture is right now. Your dad will hate it, but honestly, this is a shirt of art.
10. Paris Saint-Germain Third – Welcome to the top 10, and here's where Leeds United fans can feel hard done by, for there was only room on the list for one Burgundy shirt with gold accents, and were it not for PSG's latest hook-up with Jordan brand, then the Yorkshire club would've been in. As it is though, the self-styled kings of the cross-over are just impossible to ignore.
9. AC Milan Home – A sleek design inspired by the elegance and grandeur of the city of Milan, its magnificent structures and its iconic architecture, the Milan home shirt also feels traditional and in line with the club's values. All boxes ticked in the finest style worthy of the fashion houses of the City itself.

8. Inter Milan Home – When you're talking about recreating the traditional home look but at the same time keeping it fresh, you don't get a better example than the Inter home shirt. Inspired by postmodern Milanese designers of the 1980s, it features reimagined Nerazzurri stripes in a pop style, designed in waves and zigzags, alongside a crew neck collar and black side stripes. And yes, it's fine if you want to start supporting Inter now.
7. Valencia Third – Inspired by the works of the Valencian painter Joaquín Sorolla and the light of the Mediterranean, the Valencia third shirt features a soft print in a combination of grey, lavender and sky blue tones. Soft, subtle and a totally different shift to anything else on the list.
6. Red Star FC Away – The shackles are well and truly off, as Red Star joined up with We Are Acid FC to create something that's free of the confines of tradition. It’s in the finer details of this shirt that the majesty is held; the toile de jouy – the famous French fabric pattern style – is used to retrace the club's history, with ten sketches made up of famous players, supporters, Bauer, the Olympic, and future generations. Look deeper and admire this stunning execution...
5. Arsenal Away – We originally had the Gunners' third shirt just ahead of the away when we ranked the 20 best Premier League shirts of the 20/21 season, but we've since had a change of heart, with the unique design of the away just growing on us. Inspired by the patterns, colours, and motifs found amongst the iconic East Stand of Highbury and its prestigious marble halls, this is bloody beautiful.
4. Ajax Away – The design of the Ajax away shirt takes a mix of blue tones with and mixes it with a modern interpretation of the types of graphic patterns that were popular in the eighties and nineties. Disruptive in its execution, this is yet another unique look that stands alone.
3. Inter Milan Third – Instantly bringing to mind images of peak Ronaldo, the Inter third shirt is undoubtedly the best of the Nike third shirt brigade. It draws inspiration from one of the most iconic Air Max styles — the Air Max 97 “Silver Bullet”, but it's those retro-vibes that had us sold.
2. Roma Away – Roma and Nike together just don’t do bad shirts, do they? That's why it's all the more sad that this is one of the last ones we'll get from the partnership. But what a way to sign off; the stripped back ivory design of the shirt highlighted by that polo collar, which comes in dark red with yellow and red border details, bringing to mind the club’s away shirts from the early 1980s — Bellissimo!
1. Liverpool Away – Kicking off their new partnership in some style, the Liverpool away shirt instantly announced what Nike were all about. Where New Balance found their groove with their home shirts towards the end of their tenure, they never quite nailed the away and third shirts. But Nike came in with an offering that at once nodded to the tradition of the club, while taking them into unexplored territory in the most radical way.
Honourable mentions for the Real Madrid third shirt, Kaizer Chiefs home, Marseille away and Dortmund home, with the latter only missing out due to the jarring sponsor.
So there you go. Now you can shout at us on social media for how wrong we got it...

We’re finally back at it. 2019/20 is now firmly underway and after taking in the opening rounds of fixtures around Europe’s top leagues, we’ve had a bit of time to take in the teams that have been making a splash on the pitch while kitted out in a season of game-changing new looks.
Plenty of eye-catching moves have been undertaken by football shirt manufacturers this summer. Nike and adidas broke hundreds of years of tradition in sacking off the stripes for Barca and Juve’s home jerseys, while sides lower down their respective leagues like Brighton & Hove Albion and Frankfurt were blessed with table-topping heat. Even Jamie Vardy has been able to look saucy up front for Leicester in their bright pink away jersey for this campaign. There’s been a lot to take in.
Far from charging fans a fortune for the same old shirts, manufacturers stepped up their efforts to really deliver new takes on club shirts all around Europe this year. From major manufacturer changes at The Emirates and The Etihad through to designs that look purpose-built to enrage TalkSport listeners, there’s lots of new drip to choose from. We’ll cut to the chase and let the shirts do the talking – here’s the VERSUS list of the 20 waviest football shirts this season.
Brand: New Balance
Worn by: Sadio Mane, Rhian Brewster, Mo Salah
New Balance iced-out Liverpool’s away shirts to ensure the European Champions will be looking ultra-clean on their trips out of Anfield in 2019/20, with the minimalist design paying homage to legendary manager Bob Paisley and the club’s first European Cup success back in 1977.
Brand: Nike
Worn by: Timo Werner, Dayot Upamecano, Christopher Nkunku
The RB Leipzig 19-20 Home jersey features strong Nike and Red Bull branding alongside a wavy light grey all-over pattern to create one of the best Bundesliga designs this campaign.
Brand: Nike
Worn by: Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann, Frenkie de Jong
Barca sacked off the stripes for a Croatia-style checkerboard design for their 2019/20 home kit, in one of the boldest moves in the club’s rich history. Honouring the city’s Eixample district, the kit pays homage to Catalan creativity and Antoni Gaudi’s iconic architecture by ripping up the rulebook, while keeping the renowned red and blue colourway with subtle red and yellow detailing to salute Catalonia’s flag.
Brand: adidas
Worn by: Moussa Dembélé, Houssem Auour, Jeff Reine-Adelaide
Lyon have been linking up with adidas since the start of the 2010-2011 season, but their 2019/20 Away strip is arguably the best kit the Three Stripes have produced for the club to date. Royal blue, pin-striped and featuring that classic collar and sleeve design adi have been implementing for a few clubs this season, Lyon’s away kit is one of adi’s most underrated designs – you’ll see a new generation of Lyon ballers donning over the next 12 months.
Brand: PUMA
Worn by: Marco Reus, Thorgan Hazard, Jadon Sancho
Jadon Sancho cheffed up Bayern in the German Super Cup final while looking the part in the club’s Cup Jersey for 2019/20. Arriving in the same colourway as the club’s world-renowned black and yellow home strips, PUMA’s tournament shirt for Dortmund offers up a wavey design across the collar, inspired by the roof construction of Signal Iduna Park.
Fifa 21 International Kits
Brand: adidas
Worn by: Luka Jovic, Eden Hazard, Vinicius Junior
While they don’t reinvent the wheel with each drop, adidas’ Real Madrid kits are usually a shoo-in for lists like this one every single season. The club’s 2019/20 away strip takes being wavey literally, with the kit dressed down in a subtle soundwave design and accented with regal gold drip for the most successful club in European football as they chase yet more silverware with a glut of new big-name ballers this time around.
Brand: PUMA
Worn by: Suso, Krzysztof Piątek, Lucas Paqueta
The cleanest jersey PUMA produced this season was gifted to AC Milan. Breaking from their long-term adidas partnership in recent seasons has meant that PUMA have the monumental task of serving up the goods for one of the most iconic teams in world football, and they duly delivered – slimming down the stripes for a slick shirt with a street-ready aesthetic.
Brand: adidas
Worn by: James Maddison, Hamza Choudhury, Ayoze Perez
Not many would think of Leicester City as a classic street-style inspired club (though we’re sure Kamakaze might disagree), but the Foxes bright pink away strip has given them that status ahead of the new campaign. The Foxes will look to do bits in this one all season long.
Brand: Nike
Worn by: Ante Rebic, Makoto Hasebe, Danny da Costa
Frankfurt and Nike isn’t one of the game’s most well-known partnerships, but this kit is one of the best you’ll see in world football this season. Worth keeping an eye out for Frankfurt results this season just to see this shirt in all its glory. Levels.
Brand: Nike
Worn by: Glenn Murray, Leandro Trossard, Neal Maupay
Brighton & Hove Albion’s partnership with the Swoosh elevated this season, with Nike evidently paying closer attention to detail for the Seagulls this season. Their away kit is one of the cleanest jerseys you’ll see this season, with subtle branding and a murdered-out design, this is a lowkey staff favourite.
Brand: PUMA
Worn by: Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden
Man City’s third strip came out looking different. PUMA served up a kit that looks like a Calippo Shots canister (remember them?), and is probably the most experimental shirts from any of the big boys in the Premier League this season. You’ll have to be saucy to pull it off, but for the sheer boldness of the design, this one makes the cut for our top ten.
Brand: adidas
Worn by: Serge Gnabry, Ivan Perisic, Benjamin Pavard
Bayern are now well-renowned for dropping off hard kits each and every season ready to be donned on the streets. The third kit this season’s coldest, arriving in a clean blue colourway with infrared accenting. Accompanied with some low-key three stripe branding, subtle T-Mobile sponsor, and a low-key diamond graphic this one looks like one of the easiest kits to flex in off the field this season.
Brand: Nike
Worn by: Romelu Lukaku, Diego Godin, Milan Škriniar
Inter’s away jersey was widely praised by fans when Nike first dropped back in June, with the mint fresh colourway immediately appreciated by Serie A and shirt lovers across the globe. Based on Julio Cesar’s old goalkeeper kit he won the treble in with the Nerazzurri a decade ago back in 2009/10, this one looks ready-made for Romelu Lukaku and company to challenge Juve in his season.
Brand: Umbro
Worn by: Felipe Anderson, Pablo Fornals, Declan Rice
Umbro and West Ham seem like natural partners when it comes to putting a fit together, and the last few years have demonstrated exactly why. The Hammers away shirt this season is indisputably the best the pair have partnered on yet, with the classic template undoubtedly one of the best shirts you’ll see this season.
Brand: adidas
Worn by: Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala, Eni Aluko

adidas have truly blessed the Old Lady with drip in 2019/20, and truly shook it up when they broke Juve’s world-renowned shirt tradition for the season ahead. After 116 years of wearing iconic black and white stripes, Juve’s new home kit sees a bold switch to a half-and-half design with a pink stripe down the middle, which immediately saw the Turin club closely follow PSG as the most fashion-forward club in football.
Brand: adidas
Worn by: Alexandre Lacazette, Reiss Nelson, Hector Bellerin
Arguably the most anticipated jersey of the year fully lived up to expectations when adidas finally unveiled the Arsenal home shirt this season. Ushering in a new era of drip at the Emirates, the Arsenal Home shirt looked to the past with the shirt’s classic cuff and collar construction, confirming to everyone that both the Gunners and the Three Stripes meant business this season.
Brand: Nike
Worn by: Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount
We’ve got to admit we didn’t rate Chelsea’s Home strip when Nike first unveiled the details ahead of 2019/20. Compared to the design seen on London bus seats, the print is definitely one of the most daring home shirts the Swoosh produced this season – but it’s grown on us the more that we’ve seen of it, with the Jordan Vickors and Daniel Pacitti-styled lookbook confirming the jersey as an easily street-styled piece.
Brand: Jordan
Worn by: Kylian Mbappé, Neymar, Edinson Cavani
Alongside adidas x Arsenal, the second round of PSG x Jordan was the other most hotly-anticipated drop this season – and the pair didn’t disappoint at the second time of asking. Coming correct in a striking and iconic Infrared colourway, PSG’s away drip should see them stand out on and off the pitch. The Jumpman influence runs deep on the shirt, with the colour referencing the OG Air Jordan VI colourway back in 1991 and bringing it back for a new generation of fashion-focussed football fans.

Adidas have ensured the Old Lady will be looking on point in every game this campaign, and their away shirt is the pick of the bunch. The super-clean strip features an all-over camo graphic with wavey, red tint, with Turin’s urban buildings and structures also referenced in the strip with the patterns of these buildings remixed to create a cold new camo print designed to be donned on the streets.
Brand: adidas
Worn by: Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Reiss Nelson, Hector Bellerin
Arsenal’s away jersey is a certified future classic, providing a well-executed new twist on the iconic ‘Bruised Banana’ jersey from the early 90s. The kit immediately popped off on social media when it was unveiled to the world last month, and looks as good on the likes of Reiss Nelson and Ainsley Maitland-Niles out in LA as it will at Carnival this year. Blessed with the best drip of the upcoming season and armed with an array of necessary new players, expect to see plenty of long-suffering Gunners supporters come out of retirement and don the best shirt of the season (with ‘Pepe 19’ probably printed on the back). Arsenal and adidas is undoubtedly 2019/20’s standout partnership.
